Mermaids are Freaky

I did a doodle of a weird scaly haired mermaid a while back and was itching to draw a short comic so I pulled that doodle out and made this little tale.

I always thought mermaid mythology was weird enough but this is my take on it.

This is my favourite use of pattern that I have done in a while.

Also check out the new header I put together.

SUPER BATTLE TANK CAT!!??!!

The hard toil of finally having a day job is stopping me from posting here regularly but I will not let that stop me. I am still working hard at building my body of work. I've been using Instagram, Tumblr and Facebook alot more because they make it so easy to post simultaneously on all platforms.

Well enough rambling here's one of the pieces that I have created since last I posted.

It is a design for a Threadless competition that opened up this month. The theme was Super Cats and I could think of nothing more super than a cyberneticly enhanced feline battle tank. He is a lean mean purring machine.

Long Time No Post

It's been a while between updates but you know how life gets in the way. But it is time to start showing off what I am working on. I am making a short 8 page comic about the Elf character that I made up last year. I've been wanting to do a mini comic for a while now and I've wanted to do a story about the hopeless elf for even longer so I am killing 2 birds with one stone. I hope you like this first page I hope to post snippets of my progress more regularly. I have still been working hard and I may post some of it soon but time got away from me.

I've been trying out all the new stuff I figured out on the previous project I completed. I love learning new techniques and I always do when I start a new project.

Hope you enjoy.

The Sketchbook Project

Before the new year started I finally received my sketchbook for The Sketchbook Project. I have signed up for the tour which is going to be a collection of graphic novels. I have completely thumbnailed one idea which was... baaaaaaaaaaaaaad. It was derivative and trying way to had to feign that it was interesting, it really wasn't. I have wiped the slate clean and started again trying to do something more interesting and I think I have it.

Drawing can be fun again...

I have finally drawn something that doesn't make me sad... Yay! It is a development of one of the sketches from my previous post. I have had the main idea for this guy for a while but never did anything about it. I want to do some mini comics/short stories to build up a world and this may be the first.

Packaging Challenge... Or Challenging Package

Recently I've been working on an interesting way to package my most recent project. I've been designing some graphics for it based on the location where all the content inside will be set. The colours aren't final and I'm not sure where it will be placed on the product but I'm happy with the design.
